MISS HEIDI
formula performing arts director
Business PersOn of the year 2023
Heidi was always wanting to create, inspire and produce a safe space for performers of all ages. Her favourite opportunity to this day is being a Choreographer & Teacher, having taught in studios all around Western Sydney and Interstate since 2012. The main focus for Heidi has always been bettering each student as a person and performer and pursuing what they love as a hobby or a career.Heidi’s passion for performing arts is stronger than ever and she relishes the opportunity to guide performers through their journey in the arts every single day.
Heidi swapped karate for contemporary at the age of 13 after realising her passions lay in performance.
She was selected to attend Northmead Performing Arts High School to pursue her love of dramatic arts.Heidi was recognised for having a natural rhythm and coordination when she hit the stage all wrapped up in an energetic personality.
Wanting to extend her education in Dance, Heidi commenced lessons at the “School of Contemporary”.
From there, Heidi developed a passion for learning the many styles and disciplines, both in the studio as well as in her formal education.Heidi selected Dance as her major where she received a Band 6 for her composition piece, “Sisters”. The piece was also selected to represent New South Wales at the Australian Callbacks.
Whilst finishing her HSC Heidi auditioned and landed herself a spot as a Fulltime Student with Urban Dance Centre in 2011.Studying under the artistic wings of many renowned industry professionals such as, but not limited to Juliette ‘Jet’ Verne, Veronica Beattie, Rosa Aguis, Jason Wynters, Julie Williamson and Tiana Canterbury.Heidi graduated with a Cert IV in Performing Arts in 2011 and even hosted the end of year Showcases at NIDA (2011 & 2012) whilst performing in over 28 routines.
Heidi found a real love for choreography and production when she stepped out of Full-time as a performer. Thus, landing herself the opportunity to Produce and Direct NHS Rock Eistedfodd "The Last Message" in 2012.Not only did this production snatch up perfect scoring awards such as choreography, soundtrack and production but it also took out First Place! Heidi is honoured to have been a part of the REC, both as a student and Director and to have taken out the last ever win in NSW Division.
Heidi is forever grateful for the opportunities she has embraced as a performer. A few honourable mentions are Carnival and Bollywood (Filmclip). Yet, her favourite opportunity to this day is being a Choreographer & Teacher. Having taught in studios all around Western Sydney and Interstate since 2012.
The passion that commenced long before our doors open is one we share. Teachers have been training and teaching together for years, all with a shared interest in developing self-assured artists with high quality training.

My biggest achievement was representing the state of NSW in high school undertaking prestigious contemporary training. During this time, I was also fortunate enough to appear in music videos and films under Bollywood/Hip Hop choreographers. One of the biggest highlights of my career was being on stage in Packemin Productions 2015 season of Wicked the musical.
I am passionate about teaching children the art of dance, technique and performance quality after searching down many avenues of the dance industry and never truly feeling I had found my place. Until I started teaching the junior age group and saw how absorbent they were in the classroom and how eager they were to learn and gain new skills and experience. I look forward, every week to getting into my classroom and creating a positive, exciting and passionate environment for these young performers and imagining the big, amazing, exciting opportunities that these children have ahead of them, no matter what path this journey takes them on!
I love working at FPA because I feel this is where I was always meant to be. After sparking my passion for the performing arts in Miss Heidi's classroom where she taught me confidence, self-love and ambition, where else would I want to pass that energy on to this next generation of performers. I love that I get to come into a place where my heart can sing in the same studio that I get to dance and teach.
My ultimate goal with FPA is to become a studio that sparks a flame in every student who comes through the door and is infectious with passion, love and warmth so we can be a powerhouse of confident, strong, unique and humble performers!

"I started dancing at the age of 14 months old under the guidance of my Mother @ Rhonvic Brolga Studios. Later the following year I started dancing @ Dorothy Cowie School of dance, under the guidance of Ms Cowie and Miss Donna Burland. Completing all ATOD examinations in Ballet, Jazz & Tap.
I competed in various competitions and Eisteddfods, State, National and international wide.
At 10 years old, I started Gymnastics @ Bankstown Sports Youth Club under the guidelines of Michelle Mason and quickly became competitive in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
In 1999, I competed for the first time at the 11th World Gymnaestrada in Gothenburg, Sweden, where we discovered sports Acrobatics. On arrival back in Sydney, the club started competing in this sport (now Acrobatic Gymnastics) and my Acrobatics career began. I competed in various state and national competitions. Ending my career in level 9 after retiring at the age of 24.
I started coaching Acrobatics and recreational classes in the gym in 1999.
2007, we made it to the 13th World Gymnaestrada - Dornbirn, Austria. This was my last time competing in the sport. I kept up my acro coaching, taking over the competition team in the Gym, Levels 1-10. Also becoming a Cheerleading coach in 2007-2010 to 3 teams that were 4 x State & National Champions.
